Tetsuo Shinjo's translation first appeared in a 1968 SF anthology. Surprisingly, it was then released as a mass-market paperback (Hayakawa Bunko NV) in 1972. It wasn't until 1975—three years AFTER the paperback—that Hayakawa Publishing finally released this luxury hardcover "Hayakawa Novels" edition to satisfy enthusiastic fans and collectors who demanded a high-quality volume for their bookshelves.
